Internship Program

The HighPointe Services Internship Program is ideal for high school and college students ages 16 and older seeking to gain valuable experience exploring a career in caregiving, nursing or teaching individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer a paid internship with flexible part-time hours. Students hired will work as Program Facilitators, aiding individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Upon graduation and when the student is 18 years old, Program Facilitators can earn more money and gain additional experience when they transfer into a Direct Support Professional role at HighPointe Services.

The main responsibilities of a Program Facilitator include helping with program activities such as leading art, recreation and game activities, assisting with lunches, moving and lifting individuals, pushing wheelchairs, and other activities as needed.

Hiring Process

  • Apply to the position you’re qualified for and interview with a Recruiter.
  • Interview with a Manager while the Recruiter processes your application.
  • Accept job offer and complete the Pre-Employment Drug Screen requirement.
  • Meet with Recruiter to be fingerprinted, complete paperwork and provide the following documents:
    – Valid Driver’s License or State Identification Card for identification purposes.
    – Social Security Card for employment tax purposes.
    – Documentation to complete the I-9 Form (ex: Driver’s License, State ID Card, Passport, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, etc.).
    – Official proof of graduation as required of position.
  • Complete Paid Training.
