Our history

Pursuing Meaningful Personal Growth

2003

Our First Program – Youth Social Clubs

In 2003, we launched a weekend club called Exceptional Kids, which provided social and recreational activities for elementary-age children with special needs. The program ran from 2003 to 2011 and expanded to three locations, including: Aurora, Colorado Springs and Englewood. During our 8-year span, we served more than 350 children with special needs.

2011

Our New Focus – Adult Day Programs

In 2011, HighPointe turned its focus to the adult population of men and women living with IDDs, and launched its flagship campus in Centennial, Colorado. Our programming and services were designed to provide high-quality, innovative programming, by a team of talented and committed individuals. In just two years, our program grew to serving more than 150 adults every year.

2012

Launch Exceptional Expeditions – Outdoor Adventures

Our sense of outdoor adventure spilled over into our programming model. The beauty and challenge of the Rocky Mountains beckoned, and we launched a new outdoor leadership program called Exceptional Expeditions. This program is designed to help our clients gain teamwork and leadership skills that are necessary when tackling the outdoors and life. We take extended camping trips and epic hiking expeditions to learn how to plan and execute a safe trip, while supporting and encouraging one another.

2016

Second Program Location – Fort Collins

In 2016, we opened our second campus in Fort Collins. It’s a beautiful, freestanding building that allows us to provide the same high-quality programming and services to our IDD Community in Northern Colorado.

2020

Launched the HighPointe Broadcast Studio

With the impact of the pandemic on our in-person services, HighPointe expanded its program delivery services to include online classes. In a several week period, we launched our new online classes to include over 60 hours of original programming per week.

2022

Purchase of our Centennial Flagship Building

After a decade of renting our Centennial facility, we were blessed with the opportunity to purchase the 20,000 square foot building and expand our programming. We now serve over 200 clients from that facility so we can meet the ever-growing demand for our services. The facility also houses our broadcast studio, Residential Services headquarters, and our Corporate Offices.

Launched our Residential Services Program

We launched our residential services program to provide in-depth support for our clients living in shared living arrangements with family members or other nurturing families. HighPointe places an emphasis on compassionate support and high rates of pay.

2023

Life Management Services Division

Our Life Management Services was launched to provide personalized life planning services to our clients. This is a major step forward in the focused long-term support our clients need and deserve.
.

2024

Launched our Recreation Services

With the additional space made available with the purchase of our Centennial flagship building and a generous grant from the City of Centennial, we launched our new recreation program. The program will include social clubs for people of all ages with developmental disabilities. It will also include outdoor adventure trips.
